Elly's 3rd Bday Celebration @ McDonald!

Birthday celebrations each year is very different. More involvement from Elly this year. She choose the tibits, and also wanted to help out in the preparation of the goodie bags..

She was SOOO happy when she saw all the tibits and was so appreciative and in love with mummy that day....

The day before her actual celebration, we went to collect her cupcakes. I love the design and thought this year round, let's have something special and unique.... It was garden theme to pair it off with her Disney princess main birthday cake...

Ta-dah! Princess, castle and garden folks... :)

Actual celebration day.. Baby girl allow me to tong her hair and tie it up for her special event...

We hold her birthday celebration at one of the McDonald's in Bedok Reservoir. Each children cost $9.50 (if i remember correctly); and we also catered for Extra Value Meal for all the daddies and mummies from her ChildCare friends, friends & some relatives... Total I have around 40-50 guests in the McDonald's... Hmmmm spent around $350 in total for a 2-3 hours celebration @ McDonald, excluding goodies bag and cakes.

All kids will have a party hat for identifications during games. When it's time to place an order, the store will also indicate the food ordered for each kid on a sticker, and paste in on their clothes for easy identification and distribution of food.

We started off at around 1 pm, after setup and organizing the kids. The Party coordinator will engage the kids for a round or 2 of games. The games played will be suited accordingly to the age group of the kids. As they are mostly 3 years old, the games are simple and mainly dance and music...

After few rounds of games, they will asked the kids to line up and proceed to have their hands washed before food are being served.

And finally food are being served! The kids are all seated on their own enjoying their little treats.. The restaurant is also very thoughtful to ensure that the food served are not piping hot so that they don't get scalded. I remembered the fries are just being removed from the fryer, and the party coordinator feel the heat of the food from the packaging and ensure it's not too hot before she allow the helpers to serve the food...

All the kids are independent and steady except for my baby girl. She's always shy, and clingy. FAINT!

My sister also got her friend to sculpt some balloons as additional gifts to these kids..

Lastly, after all the cake makaning session, it's time to distribute goodies bags from McDonald's and what we prepared before we called it a day...

Thank you everybody for coming to Elly's little party and make a memorable day for her. Glad that all the parents are just as on :)

Dim Sum @ Taste Paradise

In this modern technology advance world, indeed, blogs does plays a part in e-commerce.

I admit that I'm rather addicted to social media tools such facebook, and especially Twitter!

Had being following Brad, THE ladyironchef, for a period of time. And man, I love his photo and how he present his entries and pictures. So, being a dim-sum lover as I am since young, I'm dying to visit Taste Paradise every since I read the ladyironchef's blog post on it. READ: Best Custard Bun in Singapore

However, being so popular and with Brad's recommendations, it's indeed hard to get a reservations. So, on days when I am awake, and feel like getting a craving fix on the Dim Sum and wanna try Taste Paradise, you can be sure that seats are hard to get on the weekends.

So, there I am on the Sat where I returned from Bali. Manage to get a seat for 3 pax at the timing which I am comfortable with.

There are 2 seatings for Dim Sum @ Taste Paradise (ION). 1130 to 1330 hrs, and 1330 to 1530 hrs. So i manage to get my seats at 12pm, and was quite upset that I need to leave at 1330hrs. Given the crowd, I was bitching to myself that "yay, i will leave on time, if you give me my food fresh and hot FAST!"

Upon arriving @ Taste, you will walk through a corridor into the main dining area. Restaurant were tastefully designed, incorporated with the modern feel, unlike typical Chinese restaurants.

The main dining area WAS PACKED TO THE BRIM, loud and crowded. We were directed further into those function rooms where they turn in into "bite-size" seats for smaller group of visitors. They also have the private sofa seats for 2-4 pax, where u can release the curtain, and hide inside your own little world to enjoy the dim sums.

Variety was quite good. I quickly ordered the list of Dim Sums that i wanted, being Kiasu and afraid that if i don't order fast enough, I may have to wait super long.

But I'm so wrong! Food were served considerably fast, given the crowd. And I was skeptical initially. "Yeah, they must have prepared the food in advance". So I was not expecting piping hot, and tongue-burning dishes. And I'm wrong again. These dishes are really piping hot and fresh!! *digress: I always feel that the number 1 rule for good dim sum is that the Dim Sum must be served PIPING HOT and fresh! Otherwise, you are not worthy of opening a restaurant that serve Dim Sum*

The all-time favourite Yam with meat fillings inside.

The thing about this yam-dumpling is that it can retain oil very easily in most cases. But in Taste, you wont spot the oil stain on the lining paper, and there is no oil smell. It's piping hot, yet it's not dripping oil. Wonderful! Even Elly Moomoo asked for a second helping.

Pork ribs were light, but not the best pork ribs I have tasted before. The best i have tasted should be in Grand Mecure Roxy Hotel at Jia Xiang, where their black bean sauces were indeed outstanding.

I noticed that I forgot to take a pic of the Century Egg Porridge after I scope half out. Therefore, such half-arse pic. :x The best Century Egg Porridge that i have come across is from Goodwood Park's Min Jiang - but only the porridge is worth mentioning. Taste's porridge is equally good, but it just lack that extra oomph which I can't put it into words.

*ps: i regret preparing this post now. I'm waiting for my breakfast, and my stomach rumble loudly protesting*

The Chee Cheong Fun @ Taste were so generously filled! Chunk-ful of prawns in every section. Being an extreme prawn lover, you cannot imagine the joy I had from this. Mouth watering just by looking at the prawn chunks spilling out. *yum!!*

I'm not usually a har-gar person. I am more of a Siew mai girl. I ordered this for the sake of my little girl, because she's an even greater prawn lover as compared to myself. This is the first time ever, in my dim sum venture, that i decided to take a bite of this all-time fav. I love Taste's version!!! The skin is so thin, and sweetness of prawn's juice just splash out when you take a bite. SAVE ME!!

My Siew Mai - one thing i look out in a siew mai is how juicy the siew mai is. Juiciness depends on a few factors (in my humble opinion).

Firstly, this dish must be served immediately it is cooked, fresh and piping hot - to prevent the juice from drying while waiting in the steamer.

Second, the proportion between the meat and prawns need to have a "formula" ratio. LOL. I personally love the Restaurant Siew Mai over the coffee shop kind, because the ratio of prawn is higher, and therefore, resulting in a juicer and sweeter content.

This prawn with walnut is "mehhhh". Ray even asked why I ordered this. The name itself is attractive la. This is too dry for our liking.

The second version of the generous-filling Char Siew Cheong Fun. Madness!

My princess..

This roast duck popiah is the most ordinary ever. Firstly, i felt that they should cut into 2 piece. Second, i think it's slightly over-fry. Third, i felt that the content is dull and dry. I am definitely expect something MORE!!

But the next dish saved the disappointment of the roast duck popiah. This dish is the Fried Prawn dumplings with Mayo. So first thing that comes to my mind is "this must be the all-time fav fried prawn dumplings and served with mayo on the side"

But I'm wrong again! This dishes had a thin fish paste type of "skin" wrapping the prawns and it's sealed with Mayo in it. I was worried that the mayo will be too heavy and overwhelming, but NAHZ!!! It's not, it's very light, with some fruit bites, and again, generous filling of prawns.

And lastly, the custard bun. I grabbed it immediately after it was being served. Anticipating the burnt that i will get on my tongue. But nope, not that hot. The custard bun here was slightly thicker than what I had at Cathy and St Regis. Ray was clearly not a fan of the custard bun here at Taste. I would have being won over, if not for the lack of freshness in the bun.

The custard bun was bite size and the filling was rich and sinful. After i tear off the skin, see how soft it had become.

Moo Moo is demonstrating how suffocated with food looks like. LOL

Overall, the food served in Taste is on average $1 higher then the typical Dim Sum Restaurant. My above meal cost $60 with no credit card discount. Usually, it would have cost like $40-50 for a dim sum meal else where. But then again, i got compensated with their generous ingredients, therefore, it's all worth it.

I checkout at 1300 hrs. so......... Not bad huh! :p

This will still be on my list of Dim-sum craving fix, and a restaurant worth recommending! Although my hubby was not very impressed with it. But then again, it's differs from people to people, right?

Super backdated: Annual trip to Sandakan 2011

Every year, we make a trip back to Ray's home town at Sandakan, Sabah.

Our usual trip, besides to see his family, and spend some time there, most of our time were spend on eating. Food, food and more food!

From Floss and Ham Sandwiches....

Or just some simple milk powder crackers - anyway this is ultimate love!

And the usual hor fun, which is extremely yummy despite being so simple..

To some "Kan lou mee" with crispy pork meat... urgh! hungry now, i wanna eat this now!!

And finally to the usual SEAFOOD feast!

This time round when we went back to SDK, we were lucky to have Zhi Gao and Lijun following us. THat only means we gt extra pair of hands to handle Elly, and help with the food, and luggage and shoppings...

So, therefore I declare Zhi Gao as the BEST NANNY ever, and rob that award from Lijun. LOLOL hahahaha!

Then we also went to Sepilok - my first time there, even though i have being to SDK many many times. There isn't as much monkey as I expected, and we did see some orang utan...

So, as usual, leave your bags, cameras, sunglass in the lockers. Otherwise, the monkeys will "steal" them away from you.. hahahah

This Rehab center is in fact very famous in the world. I have seen many Westerns travelling to Sandakan just to study, and see this Orang Utan natural rehab center. Sabah's land is a shape of a Dog's head. Coming to Sabah, Mt Kota Kinabalu is also another main attractions that lure many visitors over.

Lastly, i heard that the northen tip of Borneo - which is at Kudat also had the most amazing view ever! I seen some pictures. I should be covering that part of Sabah in 2012. I will post more pictures if I indeed goes over.

Then, Ray insisted that they goes to the Crocodile farm as well. I went in once before, and I refused to enter again!! I freaked out the first time i went, and was so afraid that the wooden planks and bridge would just break..! Panaroid to the extreme.

Then lastly, we did our usual affair, taking family photos...

And ending up with a nice meal... All the delicious food, i like!

Super Backdated: KK & Puala Manuka - Feb 2011

WOAH!! Super back dated post... It's our annual trip back to Dad Dad's home town again.

We stop by Kota Kinabalu this time round for some fun!

Flew via Jetstar to Kota Kinabalu, stayed for 3 nights, and subsequently flew to Sandakan via Air Asia..

She's over 24 mths, and we gotta pay a full fare for her, so that's why she have got her own seats.. =)

This is the famous MT Kota Kinabalu! We didnt drop by this time round. LOL

One of our dinner.. We return this place the second time, after our last trip in 2007..

Glad that the restaurant is still around.

Second day in Kk where we went to a nearby beach..

Clear beautiful skies... WONDERFUL!

Elly's first time on a speed boat!

Gosh - She's so cute! look at her expression.. There are many island nearby KK, and we went over to Puala Manuka.. 2nd time for me, travelling across to the island. The experiences this time is far better. the boat ride was like 20-30 minutes? Because they did a few stop over at nearby island too.. You basically go to Jesselton Point, there will be many counters offering services to opposite island, choose a counter you preferred. Purchased your tickets, pay whatever fee, and also purchase the activities that you wanna try! The next time i go, i really wanna try "Sea Walking" around MYR 200? haha but it will be so shiok la!

Going home after an hr plus of fun hahaha

We changed another hotel after 2 nights stay at the first hotel (Radius Waterfront @ Warisan Sq). I stayed there 3 times whenever i goes KK. But this time round, it really disapoints. The rooms are poorly maintained, and that's it. Enough say!

Thus, we went over to One Broneo - supposedly the new hype in KK, thanks to marketing efforts. But after we went, it was a huge mall with distasteful setups and shops. It was like a ghost town. SAD! But the hotel redeem it. Grand Broneo.

Clean, new, and great services. Free wifi.

Our Kenny Rogers lunch after check in. The Kenny Rogers there are damn good! Black pepper FTW! The rice is superbly tasty! arghh why SG dun have?

P/S: Dont eat the Kenny Rogers in JB City Square. MEHhhh like MAD!!

After movie, we went to the lounge at the hotel. Elly love this Eggy chair, and she kind of spoilt it. I think it was also going to break before she plays with it. LOL shhhh..

And this is it. After 4D3N in KK, we are going to SDK. I wouldn't drop by KK in the next 2 years, i guess. :p

My Foodie Diary @ HKG, 19 to 24th Aug 2010 Arrived at HKG's first meal - 830 pm. Super yummy sweet & sour prawns. ARGHH!!! crispy skin plus damn good sauce.

Garlic chicken chop rice.. super nice also. What else is not nice in this restaurant har?

So glad to discover this restaurant on the first day of HKG, therefore, everyday i can dine here!! hee hee

And here, this is the restaurant name. It's super near Yau Ma Tei MTR, in front of our City view hotel. The waiter in this restaurant loves Elly man. Keep entertaining her. LOL

20th Aug 2010 - Dinsey day.. Meal!

This restaurant is at the opposite side of Nathan Rd, across a big traffic junction outside of our hotel. THey have damn yummy roasted duck! See below!

This is it!!!!! Wan Tan super yummy, and damn fresh prawns inside.... I craving for it now, and i am drooling now!!

Ray's HOr FUN... Nothing like Singapore. The food there is freshly cooked, and you can feel the "fire" taste...

Ahhh.. my fav drink in HKG. It's nothing like F&N Orange, it's so much better!

Upon reaching MAcau, we were roaming around finding food for dinner after hotel check in.

While walking along the roads, we saw this rd side store with pple crowding around it. We check in out and turn out they were selling Chee Cheong Fan & Siew Mai by 2 men.

After we ordered and received our food, the rain started pouring. We were trapped along the shop houses, damn hungry. Luckily, we managed to grab this box of food.

The rain becomes very heavy, and the winds are super strong. The men hurried to keep their stalls and they even had a hard time trying to keep their umbrella, and their packaging boxes etc were flying around.. That's how strong the wind are...

And Ta-daH!!

When the rain stop after 20 mins, we walked to the next shop house that sells food, and this is what Ray ordered.. I didn't eat, coz the shop don't look appetizing. LOL

But it taste really good man..

24th Aug 2010..

Actually wanna went to St Paul Ruins. However, it was raining again, that we detour to Venetian instead... Ate at this food court..

4th Day - 22 Aug 2010

Went over to Wong Da Xian temple to walk walk and see how come this place is so popular. Upon reaching there, the place is under going some renovation.

The temple is not closed, but certain areas are inaccessible.

There you go. Renovation!

Went on the the mall near Wong Da Xian station, and went into Kee Hwa.. Saw the embroidery boxes stuffed with Pineapple tarts. damn cute!

As i was telling my Muslim fren just last week, don't be too happy when she see MAC in HKG, becoz they even sell grilled pork buns!

You can only see this poster at the Wong Da Xian station. LOL..

Went Hua Yuan Jie after Wong da xian; din shop much, was super tired after all the walking and sweating! Dad Dad n Elly went back hotel to slp, while i walked over to Langham Place for H&M Shopping! YAHOO!! I walked alone from YauMaTei to Mongkok, and asked around for directions to Langham place. I'm so proud of myself. So brave! AHHAHAHA actually nothing impressive la coz it's almost like Singapore.

After my shopping, i walked back to my hotel. It's pretty near, nearing dinner time. We went to
Avenue of Star and await for the lights of symphony!

ERM. erm. erm. It's nice to watch 5 mins, but not worth it to like stayed throughout the show la.

AND THIS IS MY FAV DRINK IN HONGKONG!!! SHARE TEA, AND NOW IT'S IN SINGAPORE - WISMA! <3>

In HKG, it's not so popular as compared to Gong Cha. Gong Cha is the king in Mongkok lor. I didnt see Koi though.

5th Day - 23th Aug 2010.

Intended to travel to Macua much earlier. But spend too much time shopping for H&M (again!!) and Mongkok, therefore delaying our trip to Macau. hmmm abit wasted though. Becoz when we reach MAcau, we wasted 1/2 hr awaiting for shuttle bus aimlessly. In the end we went to take cab to our Hotel.. It was already 8+ pm, and by the time we check in, strolled around to look for places to have dinner, it was raining heavily all of the sudden lor. We damn ke lian, stranded in the rain, hungry, and duno where we are. LOL

In the end, we eat some street food - chee cheong fun and siew mai, and shopped at espirit and some cookies shop, before ta-baoing Mac and cab back to hotel! becoz we lost our way la. LOL

6th Day - 24th Aug 2010.

Then, becoz it's raining AGAIN, we cannot go to the ruins of St Paul (the locals called it "dai san pa", something lidat la. haah)! YES, we didn't went! it's like nv go to Macau at all lor. sucky feeling! but what to do, raining leh! with Elly somemore!

So we went to the next popular place - Venetian.

Flight was originally planned for 6pm, but was delayed for 2 hours, and Venetian being the nearest place to airport - with free shuttle bus, we went back to Venetian again after checking in our baggage.

And then we bid Good by to MAcau after the 2 hrs delay.

Good bye Hong Kong and Macau, we will return, definitely. :)

Third Day

Dim Sum morning! View from the restaurant, which is very near our hotel @ Yau Ma Tei.. Hmm like 3 mins walk.

This is "Hao Cai" Restaurant. The floor space is huge with many pple yum cha in the morning. I saw this restaurant being show in some HKG police show also..

We went to Ngong Ping 360 after our breakfast. But i duno why this picture came up in between the dim sum.. LOL

LOL! All this food for just the 2 of us plus Elly. Of course we cannot finish them. OH Oh OH, there's 1 more bowl of porridge as well. Everything for less than $25 Sing Dollar. Eat until i siao (LAUGH). Eat until Ray face green grenn (translate to chinese on ur own). :p

Restaurant look very old fashion, but their food are very decent with quality taste! Authentic Dim sum.. thumbs up, and thanks to the recommendations (by the hotel front desk).

On the MTR to Ngong Ping 360, intend to go to see the BIG BUDDHA, but the weather was scorching hot, and very glaring. We skipped that and intend to go later, however, Elly slept all the way though, and we ended up shopping the entire afternoon at City Gate.

After shopping at City Gate, we returned to Hotel for shower, and off we go again! to Mong KOk.

Stop by a small shop to eat their roasted delights. I have the egg & prawn rice instead.

Roast pigeon, but this shop doesnt sell very nice roasted delights. we were damn disappointed.

Egg Tarts from HKG! but sorry hor, i nv tried, so cannot comment.

And this curry fish ball is really super ultra yummy!

After the night shopping @ Mong Kok, and a foot massage, we went to this tea place for drinks. MongKok is always crowded. It's so freaking scary and crowded that you will get lost in the crowd.

After this pork chop bun, we went shopping again, and eventually ended the night later near to midnight and had a mini KFC supper! :D

Hong Kong! weeee Disneyland!

A day where we looked forward to our Hong Kong trip for the first time!

Elly's mood was beautiful that day! No school for the next 7 days, travelling to a new place, meeting the Disney characters.

At Changi Airport Terminal 1.. YOG - Lyo and Merly!

She insist on taking picture with the plane outside!

After 3 hrs flight, we arrive @ Macau, from Macau airport, we took a cab to to the Macau Ferry Terminal, and take the 1830 hrs ferry to HKG TST Kowloon (via First Ferry). Elly - even though she's only 22 mths, she still need to pay for full adult price for the ferry ride.

3 hrs on flight made us very hungry, luckily, we bought some bread and burger.

I find the ferry ride ok, but indeed its rocking very badly. if you tried to walk, you will find yourself wavering, literally.

Ray got a bit of motion sickness though, and Elly manage it very well. After 60 - 70 mins, we finally arrived at HKG.

Took a cab to our hotel @ Yau Ma Tei, The Cityview Hotel. This hotel is directly behind the busy Nathan Road, which leads to the famous Ladies Market and MongKok within 10 - 15 mins by foot. MTR is just at the road side, probably 5 mins, and there are many eateries and restaurants near our hotel.

It's a great location, and I would loved to stay there again.

So, we checked into the hotel (free upgrade), and goes to our room. I am uncomfortable initially becoz the ceiling is very low, and the room is small. very cramp walk way. But then again, i got use to it after that. The hotel is clean, good location, new upgraded rooms but bed seems small - Queen instead of a King size.

(digress: The Macau hotel is more worth it, with very big room, and super shiok and comfortable KING size bed!)

After that, we finally went for our dinner @ 2100 hrs, near our hotel. Anyways, i decided to dedicated a post to all the FOOD we ate in HKG. So ya, till then.. NO FOOD in this post.

Walked over to Ladies market for awhile, and decided to return to hotel to stay. but yeah, HKG is a late night city.. If not for Elly, we would be roaming and shopping on foot till late.. :p

Day 2 - Disneyland trip!

Wake up probably at 0930 hrs, after preparation, we went for our breakfast again opposite our hotel!

After breakfast, we went to the MTR station to purchase the Octopus card. We paid HKD50 deposit, which is refundable upon return.

Asked the station control for the directions to Disneyland, and they provide us a handy map - which is useful for us throughout our days in HKG.

The thing in HKG is that the pple are all very ZI DONG. Whenever we board the MRT, there will ALWAYS (ALL THE TIME) pple coming up to us and give up their seats for Elly. And the pple in HKG seems to be attracted to Elly, all of them adores her.

And after like 1/2 hr, we arrived @ Disneyland! The moment we arrived at Disneyland, we can immediately feel like mood that they set. So happy, reviving the child in everyone of us. Music was played loudly, and u see characters everywhere. After the trip, it makes our USS pale in comparison. :x

The moment we step into the park, we saw Stitch and friends touring the entrance.

As we walks into the park, we first stop over at the gift shop, and immediately spend like $70 there :p

After that, we decide to grab a bite first before we start our tour. Ray also went to rent a baby stroller (S$20)

Nuth much to eat there, we decide to find something light for Elly, since we are not so hungry.

Fish Ball noodles.. Singapore's fishball is much better.

Another parade... Water splashing everywhere. Everyone use their umbrella to shield. I am damn wet after this parade lor..

We saw this Magical coin press machine outside the toilet, and you can use the Octopus card to pay and buy the coins..

This new attraction that they are building outside Fantasy Land. The princess of Disneyland!

At around 3-4 pm, we stop at Fantasy land's Royal Banquet Hall for lunch after Elly wakes up from her nap.

Ray had something like the stew pork ribs rice, and i had the fish burger set as below.

Then we went to the area where the Disney characters gathers for us to take picture.

First up, Minnie Mouse. Q for probably 15 mins. While Q-ing, Minnie took a 5 mins break and walk off. Elly then start crying and ask Minnie not to go.. LOL

After that, we went over to the next character who is - TIgger! NOt much pple qing for him. waited for 3 pax in front, and while doing that, I saw that Mickey mouse is having a long Q. SOOO, i ask Dad Dad to go over Mickey mouse to Q first.

After Tigger, saw that Pluto's Q is also rather short. Wait probably for 5 mins. Snap Snap Snap.

After that rush over to the Mickey mouse pavilion, and just nice! only need to wait for 2 more pax in front of us.. Thanks DAD DAD!

Finally after Mickey mouse, we proceed on to the last pavilion for Goofy.

After exploring the entire disneyland, and buying bread, etc, we went on to choose the photos that we wanna buy..

There are firework show every night at 2000 hrs. Wanna wait for that actually, but all of us were super tired at 7 pm, and legs were numb and no further energy. Dad dad decided not to wait since we were very hungry and Elly is tire as well.

Elly insisted that i remove and tie for her.. so ta-dah...

I like the mood and atmosphere in HKG Disneyland. Every one are influenced by it. You see tourist buying all Dinsey's character stuff and wear it. Caps, rubber bands, headbands, Tshirt, fan, etc. You cant help but to follow suit as well. Everyone is very very happy der, and can behave like a child!

I have my share of fun, so do Elly and DadDad.

Bought Elly to watch Toy Story 3, and man, she loved it!! She was following the show very well, and gets excited together with the toys! She just got addicted to Toy Story after that one movie :)

Day 3 continues...

Auntie's friend fetch us in his big Toyota, and bring us around!

First up, the place where we can get a good shot of the twin tower. He often bring pple around, so he kinda know the spot and place very well..

Next, we went to some govt site for photo taking. many tourist were there as well. dont know the exact name though. This is the downside of an overdue post.. so mostly, the pictures will do the talking...

See Meiyu's new bf? That uncle just pop by and squeeze in to take pic with her.. hahahaha.

After that, went to some museum take picture again.

After that, lunch!!! this wrapped chicken is damn good. shiok-ness to the MAX!

Then back to Chinatown!

And i heard this is the FAMOUS Air Mata Kucing!

After walking for like 1/2 hr, we insist that no matter what, we need to eat the claypot rice even though we are damn full from the bak kut teh... It's totally worth it, yummy yum yum!!!

And that's it for day 3. Covered quite a few place, but didn't really explore much!

p/s: Meiyu was sick (very sick) on day 3! therefore, she didn't really enjoy all the above! She was vomitting and "fever-ing". poor thing.

After that, we went over to Sungei Wang again to do our last minute shopping... Elly rocker girl.

Here is what we bought from our last min shopping. All to be distributed to the family members..

After Sungei Wang, we went back to check out and still have another 1 hour, so we proceed to go opposite to the nearby Time Sq, and snack over at Krispy Kreme!

Time Sq seriously got nothing much to shop. It falls below my expectation.

Not much pple as well. so dont waste time there, unless you wanna have Krispy Kreme near Sungei Wang area..

Rush back to the hotel to catch our pre-booked maxi cab. Cab turned out to be too small! maybe becoz most of us are too big size? and luggage too huge?

Reach airport, and waited for another 2 hours. Stationed at Mc but was damn warm, so we proceed to Coffee Bean at the far end.. ample seats and space, and most importantly, air con is cold!!!!

Back home in Singapore!

Bought a school bag for Elly. Exactly the same size as her old school bag. She need to use this size because she have to pack her towel, 2 set of clothes and sometimes bed sheet... so, ya!

All the dresses / clothes that she bought..

I went over to jean yip parkway yesterday. Asked whether Elly's hair can do a temp perm for her bday next week.

Stylist say can and gladly ask if elly wants to try n elly say "yes" on her own! Haha so cute.. So vain pot!

Then suddenly trip n fall n with the bowl infront, hit her head on the bowl.

That explains the line on her forehead. N there's abrasion and a cut in the middle of her bruise.

Make me have to take leave & attend to her injuries.

Her leg is slightly bruise, lucky she's wearing long pants.

Short trip to KL, 18 June 2010

Elly went holidaying to KL on 18 June 2010.. AND i tell you............... She was enjoying herself crazy during the short trip!!!

1st - becoz it's a group of us (5 pax)

2nd - all her aunties & uncle dote on her & allowed her to behave like a little princess (again)

3rd - connecting rooms... she love running to & fro the room..

Bought tickets from AirAsia in Nov 2009, and plan for this trip in June... Tix per pax was like $55 including tax, baggage, and a fee of $10 for purchasing on line...

Elly was holding to her passport mad tight, and was so excited and kapo when we cross the customs, and checks etc..

And she bullied Mei yu & played with her camera... Look at her, soooo focus in getting great pictures..

Finally, after an hour flight to KL, and another hour bus ride to KL Sentral, AND another 10 mins cab ride to our hotel - Capitol Hotel.

At KL Sentral, damn it, while we alight from the bus, 1 cab driver approach us and said to charge us like RM30 - 50 to our hotel. We F him, coz we found out in the airport, the cab fare should be around RM10+ only...

So, we explore around, and finally reach a taxi ticket station. Bought the ticket to take cab for just RM13...

The location is MAD GOOD! Just like 10 - 12 steps away to Sungei Wang Plaza where all the shopping lies (partially like Far East Plaza but with a Metro/Isetan equivilant in it).

Within that 1 min walk, there's also a massage shop (Good Friend). "Clean" type, not the sleezy kind with many thai/viet/etc. Mostly locals, and experienced uncle/auntie.

Also within 1 min, there's this IT Mall (Low Yat), similar to Funan IT Mall.

Further down, perhaps 5 - 7 mins, it's that street FULL of food stores!

AND AND AND, from Pavillion, walking back to our hotel is like 15 mins, and along the way, there are many shops along the road, and some other shopping mall.

So tell me... how fantastic this location is? The hotel room is also clean and comfortable.. Just that the lobby is warm - no air con. but F, who cares about the lobby.... OHHHH ya, the broadband services also failed us badly!!!!

Any THE way, we had our first meal at 4+pm just beside our hotel.. There are many many food stores and restaurant beside our hotels..

Ordered the famous KL Hokkien Mee.. But this version is not so OMG-fantastic.

This is the sesame chicken.. small portion, and all of us like this.. nice.. Crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside.

Wan Dan Hor Fun - the way they stir in the egg does not look good.. The hor fun is better than the Hokkien Mee though..

At Low Yat IT Mall.. Elly insist to take pictures with the balloons when she saw it. She was so cute and caught the attention of the store personnel, and open up a packet of sweets for her.. In the end, Elly did not eat the sweet. Instead, Dad Dad and the yiyi finished it; and say it's so good, that they bought like 10 packets back to Singapore.. Brand of that Mango gummi sweet - Lot100.. Buy the packaging that is the size of a potato chips, and have the picture of the fruits in front. Don't mistakenly purchase the sour version....

After the IT mall, we spend another 3 hours in the Sungei Wang Plaza... Bought many stuffs.. the girls bought cosmetic from Etude house, tops, baby clothes etc...

After that, we went to the food street opposite to have dinner. No photo here since i forget to bring my camera....

19 June 2010..
We went Bangsar Shopping centre from our hotel.

When flagging for a cab, we insist to take cab with meter reading.

The drivers were mostly indian. Very scary......

Lijun/Meiyu/Zhi Gao always get bullied by the cab driver.

Firstly, they anyhow charge them service charge like RM30 - 50 on top of the meter fee.

2nd cab, just insist that dont to charge meter fee after they bought the cab when at first he agreed. Until they speak up and be firm, then they were not bullied.

And so, we departed in 2 different cabs, and the gong gong driver send them to Bangsar Village instead. FAINT! FTL.

Therefore, don't behave kuku in KL (to a certain extend).

So, while waiting, we look around and buy cakes / bread for baby girl.. She was hungry.. :(

And we were mad hungry when they finally arrived. Walk around to find some "normal" eatery/restaurant, not too ex that kind since it's just to fill tummy for awhile.....

No luck in finding any eatery. all are super posh and ex restaurant.. So, eventually, settled for DOME...

Actually, we planned to go over to MidValley Mega Mall after Bangsar, since it's pretty near by.

But, by the time we finished our hair cut, it was already 1pm+.. so tot that we should postpone till tmr so that we got a full day to walk there....

My hair stylist cuts in detail, and took about 2 hours to finish Lijun and my haircut..

So we went pavilion instead.. Wah it's like Taka or Ion lor.. classy de.. Thus, not really suitable for us, since i can see these every day in Singapore lor.

Then went to get late lunch! I LOVE THE KFC IN MSIA!!! It's damn shiok and good, as compared to Singapore! ESP the Colonel BURGER!!!! Bring it back to SINGAPORE!!!

THEN, we past by the famous "The Loaf". We went CRAZY inside this bakery... every thing was so appetizing and attractive.. Wanted to buy and try every type..

Then we walk from Pavillion towards our hotel, and along the way, we found Him!

The A&W Bear! Bought Root Beer & CurlyFries...

After we went back to Hotel to rest before Dinner, we received a call from Aunt.. She offered to pick us for dinner... And even drove over a huge MPV - Alphard... Yahoooo i love it.. so spacious..

This menu is for 10 Pax.. And there's only like 7 of us. But still, we polish it all. Impressed with our performances. :p

The ultra big plate of shark fins with many crab meat.. But the plate is shallow la..

After that, we drove over to The Mine, where they have the Cruise from the shopping mall to some nearby jetty etc. Very unique.. We wanted to take a ride, it was like 45 mins. But when we were there at 9pm, we missed the last services.

The end of our day... damn tire. So after day 2, Me & DadDad went for foot and back massage, while the rest look after Elly when she was asleep...

Elly's hospital bill cames up to be SGD 3k+. Her hospital post here.

In fact, we were the least worried about hospital bills when Elly was admitted. That is of course, all thanks to the enhanced hospital plan & the rider plan. I know that the hospital claim can be claimed 100%! Yes - right from the very first cent! That's why we choose the best class of ward..heee

Of course, we have to pay the amount upfront first, and subsequently, claimed back the amt that we paid upfront. The hospital will also do an e-file for you to make claims from YOUR iNSURANCE COMPANY! It's that simple.

This is all becoz Mummy - ME, did purchase the Great Eastern SupremeHealth (deduction through CPF) and Total Shield (paid cash @ around $200 per yr) for her!

This small amount paid each year, make me put myself at ease. I think this is one part of planning / commitment that is very impt. I bought this plan when Elly turns 2 months old.

Here's the last page of my tax invoice that show a total amt of ~$3k.

They even charged me $3 for an additional box of tissue paper.. but nvm la. all are being reimbursed by Great Eastern.

And Ta-dah.... Many many cheques are being showed below...

Beside claiming the amount fully, any post 90-days consultation (followup), are claimable. Therefore, when Elly went for follow up check up, all i have to do is to provide my life planner the original receipt, and she will process the claim for me.

And i definitely have to praise Great Eastern for this. Their claims process are SUPER FAST can?!?! It only took a week for me to claim my post 90 days follow up bills.

Also, they were so helpful. I am departing to KL on 18 June. therefore 3 days before, i call my planner to inform that i wish to get my claims BEFORE 16th June so that i can bank in, and clear my Credit card bills before i go overseas. And Ta-dah, they did it! How efficient Great Eastern are?

I love the feeling of trusting the correct company and the correct planner! They never fail me.

So parents, pple, what are you waiting for?!?! Go for the Great Eastern enhanced Medishield plan, and ask me for my planner's details! ANd pls lor, it's only ~$20 per mth to get fully cover. And that is definitely cheaper than your weekly restaurant meal.

ALL my family members - including my mum, siblings etc are covered! That I say, is $$ worth spending!

I should have blogged about this like 2 months back. But I'm lousy in time management, ok?!

This Happy Lemon shop started somewhere in May 2010 - Dad Dad's relative (cousin) started this business. Obviously, there are many challenges in getting the business rolling, but i believe it should be worth it within the next x year.

I like the cute little girl of this lemon shop. Happy Lemon originated from Hong Kong; if you have visit HKG frequently, you should be able to spot it.

The first Happy Lemon store was open in Ion Orchard, B4, Food market street, #B4-35. Right between Lin Chi Yuan and Old Chang Kee.

Store front displayed freshness and cleanliness with white and yellow setting. It gives a cheerful feel despite being surrounded by the other shops that are dull in that area.

First time there, but couldn't get Dad Dad's cousin, so Dad Dad proceed to order the Taro Latte. The boss (aka Dad's cousin) said that Dad Dad should mix the taro with the tea - which dad dad didn't! But it's still nice and smells great.

One thing about Happy Lemon is that their tea (leaves) is EXCEPTIONALLY fragrances! It's so good that you can taste and smell the tea leaves. Those who know how to appreciate tea, will definitely like the real taste of the tea. It is nothing compared to those "bubble tea" kind of tea where i don't know whether that is sweeten tea syrup or what...

Ok, this may seems crazy, but yes, they have this amount of variety! From what i see from the front store, again, it's not like those "bubble tea" shop that just add and mixed syrup into the tea to give different flavours. I can see that they see real and "solid" stuff! When they say taro, it really means TARO - YAM, OK!?!?!

Ah-HA! and this is my Lemon Green Tea. I like the effort they put into in chopping the lemon and include them in the drink. The staff recommend that we drink straight from the cup (without straws) so that we can enjoy the fragrances of the tea. It taste not too sweet, in fact, you can taste the after-taste bitterness from the first sip. I don't know whether that comes from the lemon skin or the original (solid) tea..

2nd visit:

Mango Yakult and Dad Dad's Ice Latte (ok after this visit, he had being ordering the Ice Latte).

OMG!!! the colour look so damn yummy can?!?! slurp..

I'm still waiting for chance to enjoy and complete trying all the drinks on the menu.

The queue at the store front is always there. But then again, i have to say the truth, the staffing were quite slow also (maybe they are not familiar with the brew, mix and blend of ingredients).

HOwever, i would say that Ion is not a location that i would visit frequently, as compared to Takashimaya & Bugis (town area).. So well, all the Orchard-goers, go try this new outlet and give your utmost support!

Lastly, we have gotten free vouchers from Happy Lemon.. Thanks!

p/s: i think Elly got certain style and angle looks like the little girl logo on the cups.. haha maybe one day she can get featured as well.. well well well.. yawn... Elly should try out Mediacorp first...

UDPATES: Just bought Elly to the doctor for another checkup today (17-June-10).
Doctor Vas confirm that she did not catch any HFMD.. Heng Ar.... her uclers on tongue is due to heatiness. Anyway, within 1 day, the ucler recovers..

However, she's having clear running nose, and doc did a nose swab for her to check on the bacteria. She's recommended to stay away from school for at least a month to re-build her immune system back. Doc also mentioned that she's ok and able to travel tomorrow... just ensure that her medicine is with her, and call the doc regularly to update on the status..

End of update...

She's having uclers on her tongue now, and she's complaining about the pain.

There are no spots on her hands and leg at this moment.

Let's just hope and pray that it's not Hand foot mouth! Pray that she will recover asap, and restore 100% of her health.

Come to think about it, why is Elly so prone to illness?
Is it becoz of her school? or is it becoz i dint take care when i'm pregnant?

I want to see the happy girl again. I dont want to keep bringing her to the doctor every other month!

Her 1st stay @ the hospital

I will continue this update from the last hospitalization post (@ ParkWay East Hospital, previously East Shore Hospital)

By the time we check in to the hospital ward, it was already 9pm+. We were given a double bedroom becoz the single bed room was full. Therefore, in the double bed room, there are 1 bed for the child, and 1 sofa for the sleep over parents. They try to duplicate the setting as of a single bedded room. The only differences will be that the room is obviously larger.

She was all strained and tire. She could only cry and sob on the hospital bed. Feeling afraid due to the unfamiliar environment, yet being too sick to reject anything, she just lie there flatly.

Dad Dad left 15 mins after check in to go home and pack our stuff over. He also went home to bring some porridge over, in case, Elly wakes up and feels hungry.

The nurses starts to administer her with medicine, and even use a urine bag over her private part to collect urine. The urine test was called for by the doctor to see if she caught any virus.

She was actually having 3 x diarrhea during a 1/2 hr dinner time. So the nurse were saying that if she pass motion and it contacted the urine bag, we must re-take the urine test, coz it would have contaminated the urine for the test.

There she was, crying on the hospital bed....

And after crying, she just lie flatly, and eyes keep closing, and she practically got no strenght to open her eyes also.

Here she is, at 1 am on the night of admission. Look her her face! How poor thing can she get, right? She's seriously being tortured.. Fever were hitting 40.7 degree, and stays betwee 39.5 - 40 degree throughout the night.

This is the 2nd day in the hospital. She still hvae swollen eyes, and fever still have not being controlled. It is still at 38.5 degree to 40 degree.

Come 2nd night, the nurses came in to request that they wanted to remove our sofa becoz they need it in another room, and will instead give us a bed (yipEE - able to slp better, phew!).

She still look terrible, and very sick. We started to fall sick as well when it reaches the second day.

We did not have sufficient rest, and she was wailing in the middle of the night due to pain, and discomfort. She also refuse to take medicine, and struggles. She always welcome medicine during she 21 months since birth. But this stay at the hospital changes the way we have to feed her medicine. She struggles, and we have to force the medicine in, and it was an awful thing to do.

She was also not eating, and you could hear the sound her stomach made (due to gas) when we tried to force the medicine in. It's terrible!

Finally in some mood for me to disturb her... :)

Stoning on the bed just because she doesn't want to move. Fever actually caught a toil on her. She was still able to be active on her 1st and 2nd day. But comes 3rd day, she was just not in the mood for ANYTHING!

Some random stuffs / pics during the tough week..

On 2nd day of the stay, she was being forced to extract out mucus for lab test. They use the tube, and insert into her nostril. It was awful. If not inserted properly, or when struggle, it will hurt the membrances of the nose, and that it will bleed.

During 3rd day, while her fever still did not went down to the 37 degree range, doctor continue with a blood test to see if she have got dengue or any other viral.

I was crying with her when we pin her down to extract. 3 adults were pinning her. Elly couldn't struggles. Wail loudly and screaming in pain. We, parents, have to witness the suffering of our precious, obviously knowing that she's in pain, and see how the nurse use the needle and poke into her vines, and move around. Lastly, drawing nearly 4 - 5 CC of blood. It's not little ok, mind you. How nerve breaking can it be for both the child, and us - parents.... (I can feel tears well up even when i'm recalling and typing this now).

And this is her mark after 3 days. It lighten a little.

Back home, she have to go on this nebulizer machine, because she was coughing very very badly. No words could describe how bad her cough is, and even cause difficultiy in breathing. She was coughing so badly that she spit out blood stain, as the coughing had hurt the membrance in her throat.

And following on, here are the food that we are taking in the hospital..

We were given menu to choose every day for the baby and the parent. Each meal, there are usually 3 selections. If i took picture of 1 set only, it only means that i forgot to take and was busy eating.

Overall, the food are good! WHo says hospital meals taste bad?

Here's our breakfast for day 2:

Chicken is diced very tiny, and it tasy yummy!

Day 2 Dinner 1 - Seafood Mee Sua. Wah liao, this is so damn good, that Elly snatch this set meal from me.. I ordered for her porridge (see next picture).

Day 2 Dinner 2 - Chicken porridge...

Day 2 Breakfast 1 -

Day 3 Breakfast 2 - Elly's french toast.

We bought extra breakfast from Delifrance downstairs since the breakfast were not enough..

My first time eating this from Delifrance.. And it's DAMN Yummy. No wonder, it's so famous... The crossiant were very crispy... Chicken Mayo Crossiant.. Wanted to order Roast Chicken, but they say it's not available.

Day 3 Lunch 1 - Malay set lunch, the sambal chicken is damn good!!! and the portion is big.. double thumbs up.. It taste more of curry power rather than sambal..

Day 3 lunch 2 - Chinese Set is comes with a very very yummy braised fish. It's soo good that I forgot to take pictures...

Day 3 Dinner 1 - Chicken Chop! but no potatoes de hor... It's nice, but it looks ugly.. For western food, it's usually big portion. comes with a soup, side salad, bread and fruits (all meal will have it)

Thoughts after this stay:

It was tough, and not a pleasant stay (due to the sufferings Elly had). Dad Dad had to hug her to slp everynight, and let me rest first (because i am sick). And he wakes up everytime Elly cough / cry, while i hear nuth... too soundly asleep.. haha

We packed almost our whole house there, and brought 2 laptops there. 1 for work, and the other 1 to play DVD for baby girl (at least to make her comfortable).

The hospital lobby were very hotel-like. Nice. But the ward that Elly stayed in? Nah-nahzzz.. it was old! not upgraded yet!

I was so disappointed with the room condition actually...

Ok, i hope i have covered all the details for her first hospital stay.. If i miss out, or if you have any qns, let me know, ok!?

Hospitalization

Here to provide a quick update on Elly.

Baby girl was hospitalize on 23rd May 2010 (Sunday) to ParkWay East (previously East Shore) hospital.

She was having very high fever of 40.7 degree when she reaches the hospital.

Elly was shivering, and both her hands/legs turn into patches of purplish black.

She could not even hold her head up, and her eyes were barely able to open. Her whole body turned soft, and couldn't even react to any noise.

We waited half an hour for the on-call doctor to arrive.

The nurse then proceed to bath Elly with tap water, claiming that it would bring her temperature down. She was crying all the way while being bathe, and was struggling with her body aches.

I then made the admission arrangement and chose the single bed room (since her bills will be taken care by Great Eastern Hospitalization plans).

We proceed on to the rooms, only to found out that they ran out of single-bed room, therefore, they gave us a double bed room - but with only one bed. Which is good, since it's so much bigger.

But what i'm disappointed was that the room was quite old, it look nothing like the grand entrances.

I need to stop here. and will update more soon. Baby is crying now.

Universal Studios Singapore (USS) - 11 Apr 2010

I was wondering what blog post had i missed. And ah-ha, it's the USS tour post!

Even if i don't blog about it, I should at least also post pictures, right?

I am lazy to narrate bout the tour actually... since i have add many captions on FaceBook...

Here we are.... 11 Apr 2010, 10am, arriving @ USS, Resort World Sentosa.

There were 12 of us going together to this new attraction of Singapore.
We were all excited about this trip, and were anticipating much on the design and rides of this USS. We were given $10 dining vouchers & $5 shopping vouchers for each pax..

Overall, everything is good to me. Except that i felt that the park is pretty small, the rides were pretty limited. well, it's the soft opening... no matter how small, it still comprise of all the familiar movie themes to us.. like the Jurassic Park, Shrek, Madagascar etc.... It is small but packed with many excitements and fun! I will wanna go again, but without Elly (she was afraid of everything, having bad mood that day, and wants to be hugged all the way)

From New York, we headed towards HOllywood first.. (turn right).. Turning left, will means you will be heading to Madagascar first.

We came out from the Steven Spielberg show, and saw charlie! Run over to get a picture!

Took the only ride there - which is something that's like the musical turn round cup...

That's Elly laughing at me, coz i was screaming inside (to entertain them)..

Both the battlestar roller coaster were shut down due to technical issues, and when we were there, it was already being shut down for more than 2 weeks(?).. Maybe..

From Sci-Fci City entering to Ancient Egypt... It was SOO HOT at this part of the USS.. It just seems like Egypt! Directing facing the sun rays... Elly was afraid of everything here...

Coming to Jurassic Park!! Elly's fav area in the theme park... weird girl.. she loves the baby orange dino.. That cost $99.90... She kept harassing the dino for the full 1/2 hr while we waited in the shop for the rest to complete their water rides... She hug, kiss, hold, dance, and talk to the dino.. Haiyo.... Video on Facebook..

It was almost 12+pm after they completed their rides... We headed to the food court at the Jurassic Park... Use most of the dining vouchers here... Elly becomes a food critic here.. haha

After lunch, we went on to take the canopy ride which lasted for only 1 minute, and we queue 45 mins just for it.. The longest time wanted for the rides we took in USS...

Next up - Far Far AWay!!! Shrek, and many more lovable characters here...

I had Goldilocks here... The food is "very" so-so only.. and the grilled chicken burger is the worst.. pls dun order lor...

And below is the potion shop in Far Far Away... where they also have in-house Ferris wheel.. Wanted to take the ride, but skipped it in the end, as i see that the staff stop the Ferris wheel for every single cabin... irritating right... i don't know la...

The 4D Shrek show is also "surprisingly" good!~

Then on, Madagascar~!

Moomoo had a nap in FarFar AWay, and woke up when we approached back to New York..

She entertained me a bit in this picture.. she still look stoned la..

Ahhhhhhhh......... Garrett's popcorn! It's so good la, this caramel popcorn... but hor, very oily, and fattening..

Overall experiences - fantastic.. staff were very helpful and friendly....tip top performances...

1) Went to Delifrance to sample their food for the first time.
Overall the food is great and value for money! This Chicken chop dish with soup, coffee, and dessert is only costing $9.90.

We ordered another Seafood baked rice! YUMS! full of prawns, fishes.. $12.90 i think. Worth it! The prawns are big, and the fishes are chunky.

2) Ok, this is the Iphone siao baby. everyday in the car, will keep telling me "phone phone phone"

3) first trip to Dempsy. Huge portion of chesse fries just for me and Ray. Obviously we cannot finish even half of it. Wasted that Lijun or Zhi gao was not with us...

4) First time to Gold Class. Thanks to Lijun for the free tix.. hahaha

Anyway, she gave me damn last minute also. So, technically, she have to thank me for helping her to utilize the ticket, else, it will be forfeited.

Today, Moomoo's teacher feedback that Elly BITE her classmate's cheek!

I have not seen how bad is the injury. Will keep u guys updated.

Apparently, that little girl was slightly older than Elly, and love Elly loads, and wanted to play with her.

Elly get all frustrated with her being too clingy, and in a moment of madness, bite her on her cheek. (the little girl's mother was very very mad!)

Teacher scolded Elly, and moomoo let out a cry, and turn away from the teacher. Teacher continue to scold her, and ask her to look at the injury, moomoo run off and cry even more.

Teacher mentioned that Elly knows that she is in the wrong, and felt guilty.

As the teacher complained about this to me, baby remain silent.

She don't dare to make a sound, and was guilty. However, she's also mad at the teacher for complaining to me.

She refused to say good bye to the teacher.

Anyway, Elly was too tired in school, thus, leading her to frustration.
As soon as she got home, she immediately went to her bed and fall asleep. She's cranky becoz she is sick (since Sat - Vomit, High Fever, Stomach Viral Infection, Flu), and sleepy. Yet, the teacher didn't let her slp.

She already look like a poor thing to me. She didn't mean it.

I educate her by telling her the facts, and reasoning it with her. She kept quiet throughout, and said sorry to me.

Baby Chameleon

Yesterday lunch time, I saw a baby Chameleon trying to cross a road at my work place.

It ran across one lane. Stopped. And look around.

I exclaimed to Ray that he is so smart and know how to look out for traffic when crossing the road, and getting all impressed.

Shortly, I saw a truck approaching, and this Baby Chameleon suddenly starts running and trying to cross the street. I saw him running under the truck, and FLIP up by the truck!

I was dumbfounded.

I silently hope that he just flew up, and will move again.

Ray walk over to examine the Chameleon, and tell me that the neck is already broken.

Damn it. I'm extremely sad.

One moment, I was so impressed and fascinated by this seemly clever Chameleon.

The next moment, it died in an accident.

Ray say that the Chameleon was terrified by the sound of the truck and tried to escape.

Here is my Elly in Singapore Changi Airport, waiting for her first trip out of town..

She's not sure where we are going and what to expect.

Throughout the flight, she's veyr active. No signs of hear blockage for the flight between Singapore to KL. She's managing it very well.

However, for the 2 leg of the journey from KL to SDK, she fall asleep for 2 hours, and spend 1 hour fooling around. In this flight, she suffered ear blockage, and starts to get irritated that she keep pulling her ears, and frustrated.

Here is KL's budget Terminal. We arrived at around 1pm+, and have MarryBrown for our lunch.

Here's day 2 in SDK, we are dress up and waiting to go for our family photo...

And near Granddad's shop, there are Lion dance (it's still within the CNY period, thus they have the performances). First time Elly saw the lion dance LIVE!

Oh, i remembered. The second day we arrived seems to be the last day of CNY (15th). And we went out for reunion dinner at the restaurant.

It's the second time.

Dad dad helped with a Cat's corpse the 2nd time.

Some driver just run the cat over, and leave the body lying in the middle of the road.

This time, just outside my kembangan house. We saw a lady standing beside the cat holding a plastic bag in the middle of the road.

I thought that she ran over the cat. Dad Dad pull the car aside, and went down to help her. Asked tactfully if that is her cat. She said No. She simply wants to help, and waiting for her husband (they stayed just few houses away) to get a bigger plastic bag for the cat's corpse. She's kind too.

It was a fat cat. Grey with black strips.

I watch from the car afar with Elly. I don't dare to see the moment when they lift the lifeless body up.
I turned and went into the car. Moomoo seems to know what's going on.

She's afraid yet listening to our conversations. As we speak, she lies her head on my chest. Keeping quiet through out (not her usual self anymore since she's usually hyper now).

She seems deep in her thoughts.

I asked her what's wrong. She refused to look up still. She keeps a very sad face, and still lying on my chest. I asked her issit about the cat, and is she scare? She finally responded.

I spend a few minutes explaining to her and distracting her, before she finally open her.

My daughter surprised me. She can feel what we are feeling. She knows what is going on. She feels sorry for the cat.

Afterall, she's an animal lover just like her Dad. Thus, I'm sure it's natural that she felt this way?

The other time when Dad Dad picks up the first cat, that was even more heart wrenching.
It happened in Tampines. in the middle of the road again. saw it, he park aside, we look through my car for plastic bags, and only manage to get 1 large Mango paper bag. I witness the blood on the road. Saw him picks the cat up and leave it at the rubbish dump area. Shortly, another cat walks up to the paper bag, dig through the paper, and tried to pull the dead cat out!

Feelings. Even animals displayed such agony when dealing with death. The other cat tried to wake this dead cat up. She tried for quite a while, and eventually when we leave. The cat still didn't give up.

I nearly forgot the first incident since it happened like 3/4 yrs ago? until today's incident recalled my memories.

So just what is wrong with all these people? If you (accidentally) ran over an animal, can you at least do something to the remains, and ensure that this poor animal will not be trample in the middle of the road again (again and again, just like what you did)? Are they such a coward that they can't face what they did? I felt that's the least the person can do after running over an animal. my thoughts.

it shook me further after i watch this.

I think we are just too bliss that we didn't appreciate the fortunate things that are happening around us. I admit that. I just indulge in that selfishly. Just like Da Xiong.

Lucky car park baby

And this is something worth sharing! You know how packed the carpark are during weekend at the complex...

NOT A SINGLE LOT!

We waited n becomes damn irritated... N when such a situation arise, I will usually just need to tell my moomoo "lucky car park baby, no lot leh, faster ask this car (directly in front) to go den we can go shopping/ eat mcdonald"

N every single time, after this sentences, within 3 to 5 mins, the car owner of that fateful car will just appear out of no where n drive out the car...

This happens since she was like 6 mths old.. So no worries on car park... The times where this wish dun work is when the wish doesn't benefit her at all (ex: injections) lol

Shucks! I just hope that ur luck will be gone the moment I share on this..

P/s: I know wat u are thinking now.. Bur She's doesn't posses that 4D power... She's only good in carparks.

So that if she's harder to manage with her unique n cool tempermental? She's your challenges in work! Without her, ur work would be routine with no surprises n no motivations!

Next time dun be obvious, n pls dun even try talking bout her back. You should know what it meant by "the walls have ears!"

The moomoo attended her first McParty on 14 Mar 2010.

Obviously, she didn't know what is going on, and what to anticipate. I guess the only thing that came to her mind is "French Fries!!!"

It's not to celebrate her birthday, it's to celebrate a guai yiyi bday. But with Elly's presences, it MAKES Elly as though she's the STAR - coz she's the youngest there.

It's a SURPRISED party, by the way.

There's this package for a minimum of 12 pax @ $8.50 per pax for Happy Meals. However, I'm sure happy meals will not be enough for us adults, i spoke to the restaurant staff, and learn that there's another package for adults that cost $12 per pax to enjoy the same games, door gifts, etc, and an Extra Value meal.

It's quite a fun and crazy time we have there. We have this whole "function room" to ourselves, playing ourselves silly.

Fun Trip to Ikea~

Mummy is super tied up with work, and had being lagging her presence online for the last 3 months.

We went to Ikea in Nov 09, and now then she managed to find time to upload and write entries for my moomoo blog.. hmpf!!

So, here's my first trip to Ikea, ever since i understand more things (able to walk around, and play)

There's this display at the entrance of Ikea on their level 2. It's Christmas Theme (of course! Coz xmas season is round the corner)

Mummy just led me up the platform, and Dad dad went to hide behind the display. I was left all alone on the platform, with many weird uncles and aunties walking past me, and keep smiling at me... (*shivers*)

And when we went up to level 3, the first setup we saw was also very much related to the Xmas mood. Green and dark... And my parents left me alone on the sofa AGAIN!!

And here's my role playing session. One auntie walked by and saw everything, she keeps saying that I'm so cute and smiles at me...*proud*
